An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad issued arrest warrants and court summons for several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and activists in connection with protests held on October 4 and November 26.

The proceedings were presided over by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Tahir Abbas Supra on Monday. The cases, which involve charges related to unrest and protest activity, were registered at multiple police stations across the capital, including Kohsar, Aabpara, Noon, Tarnol, and Khanna.

The court addressed the status of PTI patron-in-chief Imran Khan, along with other senior party members and supporters named in the various first information reports (FIRs). Several individuals have been declared absconders in connection with the ongoing investigations, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants for their non-compliance.

During the session, Senator Azam Swati appeared before the court and received copies of the official challan (charge sheet) related to the cases. The court also issued formal notices to other PTI leaders, including Ali Bukhari and Shoaib Shaheen, summoning them to appear for future hearings.

The legal actions are part of a broader crackdown on political unrest linked to the party’s demonstrations and public gatherings. Authorities have been pursuing several cases tied to PTI-led protests that allegedly disrupted public order or violated administrative regulations.

The court has adjourned the hearing to allow time for further legal processing and responses from the summoned individuals. Additional proceedings are expected as authorities continue to investigate the extent of involvement by the named leaders and supporters.

This development follows ongoing legal challenges faced by PTI leadership amid political tensions in the country. The party has consistently denied wrongdoing, asserting that its activities are peaceful and constitutionally protected.

No immediate statements were issued by the party or its legal representatives regarding Monday’s hearing.

Further updates are expected as the court continues to process the cases in the coming weeks.
