Police in Lahore have filed a fraud case against Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wain, reportedly the brother-in-law of alleged underworld figure Gogi Butt, over a business dispute involving a wedding venue and hospitality investment.

According to an official First Information Report (FIR) lodged at Sundar Police Station, Wain has been charged under Section 406 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to criminal breach of trust.

The case was brought forward by Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, a Lahore resident, who claims to have leased a wedding venue to enter into a joint hospitality venture with Wain. Sarwar alleges that he invested approximately Rs150 million into the business, expecting a return through the operation of event services and food delivery partnerships with local restaurants.

However, Sarwar asserts that Wain misappropriated funds, concealed critical business transactions, and deliberately destroyed essential financial and legal documentation related to their partnership. These actions, Sarwar claims, have caused significant financial loss and breached the terms of their business agreement.

In the FIR, Sarwar accuses Wain of deliberately withholding financial records and sabotaging the venture’s operations. He alleges that Wain’s conduct was intentional and aimed at evading accountability for the investment and revenue generated from the wedding venue.

Police at Sundar Station confirmed that an investigation is now underway. Authorities have yet to confirm whether any arrests have been made or if Wain has responded to the allegations.

No public statement has been issued by Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wain at the time of writing. OpenVoiceNews has also found no confirmation of legal representation or counterclaims.

The case has drawn attention due to Wain’s reported family ties to Gogi Butt, a figure previously linked to underworld activities, though law enforcement officials have not commented on any connections between the current case and past allegations against other individuals.

Legal experts note that charges under Section 406 can carry significant penalties if proven in court, including imprisonment and fines. The outcome of the investigation will depend on the evidence presented and the judicial proceedings that follow.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
