Two Gang-Rape Suspects Killed in Police Encounter in Manga Mandi

Two men accused of gang-raping a 13-year-old girl were killed during a police encounter in Manga Mandi, police sources confirmed.

The Crime Control Department (CCD) received information regarding the suspects’ location. Inspector Shabbir and his team conducted a raid to apprehend the men identified as Shoaib and Zubair.

According to police, when the suspects noticed the police operation, they opened fire. During the ensuing gunfight, both suspects were killed, reportedly by gunfire from their accomplices. The bodies were subsequently taken to the morgue for post-mortem examination.

During the exchange of fire, Head Constable Inamdaar was shot in the chest but escaped serious injury due to his bulletproof vest. Meanwhile, the victim is receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

An FIR had been registered at the Manga Mandi police station concerning the assault case.

In a related development, police in Rajgarh arrested two men, Fazal and Abdullah, accused of assaulting a minor girl. The suspects are relatives of the victim and allegedly molested her multiple times during her family’s absence, reportedly threatening her against disclosing the assaults.

The case was registered at the Race Course Women Police Station. The suspects have been handed over to the anti-gender-based crime cell for further investigation, said Civil Lines Superintendent of Police Chaudhry Asar Ali.

Police continue their efforts to investigate and prosecute cases of sexual violence in the region.
