Fatal Collision on Indus Highway Claims Life of Dolphin Force Officer

A tragic accident unfolded near Chowk Chorhatta on the Indus Highway, Taunsa Road, when a passenger bus collided with a motorcycle belonging to the Dolphin Force, a specialized Pakistani law enforcement unit. The crash resulted in the immediate death of Officer Rais Khan Raja and left his fellow officer, Muhammad Ijaz, critically injured.

The Dolphin Force officers were conducting a routine patrol when the bus, reportedly moving at excessive speed, struck them. Rescue 1122, the emergency medical response service, promptly arrived at the scene and transported both officers to the Trauma Centre at Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital. Despite medical efforts, Officer Rais Khan succumbed to his injuries at the site, while Muhammad Ijaz remains hospitalized in serious condition.

District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ali quickly responded to the incident, visiting both the accident location and the hospital. He emphasized that the bus driver’s reckless behavior was the direct cause of this fatal event. DPO Ali instructed the concerned police station to pursue swift legal action and ensured that hospital staff provide the highest standard of care to the injured officer.

The bus driver has been taken into custody, facing charges for negligent and reckless driving. Authorities continue to investigate the case further. Meanwhile, arrangements are underway to honor Officer Rais Khan with full police honors during his funeral.
