Foreign Office Vows Robust Response to Any Indian Misadventure

Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has reiterated that any aggression from India will be met with a strong and decisive response, emphasizing the country’s readiness to protect its sovereignty. The FO’s firm stance comes amid rising tensions between the two neighbors and highlights Pakistan’s call for diplomatic resolution to ongoing disputes.

During a weekly media briefing in Islamabad on July 24, 2025, FO Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized Pakistan’s confidence in its defense capabilities. He stated that Pakistan maintains a “very robust” posture against any potential misadventure by India and expressed hope that India would choose restraint. Khan referenced Pakistan’s recent military exercise, Marka-e-Haq, as a demonstration of preparedness and urged India to abandon aggressive rhetoric. He warned that India’s hegemonic ambitions would be futile and advocated peaceful dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.

The statement follows a series of provocative actions attributed to India, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty after the April 22, 2025, attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which resulted in multiple casualties. India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the incident, as well as missile strikes and restrictions on airspace, have escalated tensions. The FO dismissed these allegations as unsubstantiated and called for a neutral investigation. Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and stressed that restraint should not be perceived as weakness.

Pakistan’s military leadership has echoed this position, with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir warning of a “swift, resolute” response to any hostile action. The FO also condemned ongoing human rights concerns in IIOJK and appealed for international attention. In light of these developments, Pakistan is strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties with allies such as China and Turkey to enhance its regional position.
