North Waziristan Bank Managers Abducted in Road Ambush

MIRANSHAH – In a serious security incident in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, unidentified assailants kidnapped two private bank managers, a bank staffer, and a driver while they were traveling from Miranshah to Bannu after work.
According to local police sources, the abduction took place in the Harmuz area of Tehsil Mir Ali. The victims were on their way in a private vehicle when they were intercepted by armed men and forcibly taken along with the vehicle. The incident occurred late Tuesday evening.
Law enforcement agencies responded promptly and launched a search operation in the surrounding areas. Police reportedly exchanged fire with the suspects during an initial response, though no injuries or arrests were confirmed at the time of reporting.
In reaction to the abductions, all private banks operating in Miranshah have shut their branches indefinitely as a form of protest. Local traders and residents have also expressed alarm over the deteriorating security situation in the region, calling on authorities to take swift action to recover the abducted individuals.
Authorities have yet to release any information regarding the identities of the abductors or the possible motive behind the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping as of now.
North Waziristan, once a hotspot for militancy, has seen a resurgence in targeted attacks and kidnappings in recent months, raising serious concerns among both civilians and the business community.
