Ghotki police have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged murder of local TikTok content creator Samira Rajput, who was found dead in her home in Bhutta Mohalla on Friday. The arrests came after her sister, Shehla Rajput, lodged a formal complaint at A-Section Police Station.

The suspects, identified as Ali Raza Rajput and Muhammad Imran Rajput, were taken into custody shortly after Samira’s body was discovered. According to initial post-mortem findings, she died due to poisoning. Police officials suspect she was given a toxic substance in drinking water, although further forensic results are awaited.

The FIR states that the two men had been pressuring Samira to arrange a marriage between one of them and her 17-year-old daughter, Shabana. Samira reportedly rejected their advances multiple times. She had been living separately from her husband and resided with her daughter in the same house where she was later found deceased.

A recent video posted by Samira online has added to the gravity of the investigation. In the footage, she expressed concern for her safety and mentioned by name one of the suspects if anything were to happen to her. Police have confirmed that the video is being included as part of the evidence.

Ali Hassan, who identified himself as Samira’s husband, told the media that he had not divorced her and was upset that police initially refused to file an FIR on his behalf. He accused the authorities of neglecting due process when he tried to report her death.

Police said the suspects were allegedly preparing to bury Samira’s body when officers intervened and transported her to a government hospital in Ghotki for a proper autopsy. The FIR includes charges under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 337 (causing harm), and 452 (house trespass) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Shabana, Samira’s daughter, gave a formal statement to police confirming that her mother had been under intense pressure to accept the marriage proposal. Her testimony supports the claims made in the FIR.

Samira was a well-known TikTok personality with more than 58,000 followers and over one million likes. Her death has raised fresh concerns about the safety of female content creators in Pakistan. Just last month, another teenage TikToker, Sana Yousaf, was killed in Islamabad, prompting a national debate on violence against women.

Authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is ongoing and that all digital evidence, witness statements, and forensic reports will be fully reviewed to determine the exact circumstances of Samira’s death.
