Degari Woman’s Mother Jailed in Murder Probe

In a key turn in the Degari double murder case, police have sent Gul Jan, the mother of victim Bano Bibi, to jail following the completion of her police remand. DNA samples were collected from Gul Jan at the request of the Serious Crime Investigation Wing as part of the ongoing investigation.

Gul Jan was initially taken into custody after a video surfaced showing her defending the murder of her daughter as a justified act under Balochi tribal customs. Police have stated that this video is being treated as a significant piece of evidence.

After her two-day remand period ended, Gul Jan was presented before an Anti-Terrorism Court. The court then ordered her transfer to jail.

The case gained nationwide attention after a man and a woman were killed in the Didi area of Degari.
