Faisalabad Police Arrest Over 2,000 Suspects in July Crackdown

In a wide-ranging crackdown during July 2025, police in Faisalabad arrested 2,116 suspects involved in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, possession of illegal weapons, gambling, and evasion of court proceedings.

According to a police spokesperson, operations were conducted across multiple city zones, resulting in the apprehension of 1,064 fugitives. This group included 225 individuals listed as Category-A proclaimed offenders, 314 as Category-B, and 525 court absconders.

Police also dismantled 31 organized criminal gangs operating in the region. A total of 86 gang members were arrested, and stolen property valued at approximately Rs. 16.7 million was recovered. The recovered items included 117 motorcycles, seven rickshaws, various motorcycle spare parts, five mobile phones, cash, jewelry, and 37 pistols with ammunition.

Efforts to curb illegal gambling also intensified during the month. A total of 80 First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered, leading to the arrest of 229 suspects involved in betting operations. Authorities confiscated Rs. 607,000 in cash along with betting slips, playing cards, and other gambling-related materials.

Meanwhile, the police made significant progress in combating drug-related crimes. A total of 402 individuals were arrested on drug charges. Seized items included 162.83 kilograms of cannabis, 41.20 kilograms of heroin, 11.83 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), 30 liters of lehan (unrefined alcohol), and 5,778 liters of liquor.

In a parallel crackdown on illegal arms possession, 335 suspects were taken into custody. Seized weapons included 285 pistols, 11 Kalashnikov rifles, 14 standard rifles, 146 shotguns, nine repeaters, three revolvers, and two carbines. A large stock of ammunition was also recovered.

Officials stated that these operations were part of the broader strategy to maintain law and order, dismantle criminal networks, and ensure public safety across Faisalabad.

Law enforcement agencies have reiterated their commitment to continuing these targeted operations in the coming months. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police through official channels.
