Kasim Khan, son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan, exposes the deteriorating and inhumane conditions his father faces in Adiala Jail, urging international attention to the former prime minister’s plight.

Kasim Khan, the son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has publicly condemned the “really poor conditions” his father endures in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, stating they are “getting worse by the moment.” In an interview with Real America’s Voice on July 30, 2025, Kasim, aged 26, highlighted the dire circumstances of his father’s incarceration, which began on August 5, 2023, following convictions in multiple cases, including a £190 million corruption case tied to the Al-Qadir Trust. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf alleges these charges are politically motivated to suppress Khan’s influence, as reported by Dawn.com.

Kasim and his brother Sulaiman, 28, have been vocal since May 2025, engaging U.S. lawmakers to advocate for their father’s release. Kasim emphasized that Imran Khan is held in solitary confinement for 22 hours daily, denied clean water, family visits, medical checkups, and access to books or newspapers, according to posts on X by PTI supporters. These claims were echoed by Imran’s sister, Aleema Khan, who told reporters on July 30, 2025, that the brothers hold National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and plan to visit Pakistan, warning that any harm to them would spark international outcry. However, Adiala Jail authorities, in an October 2024 statement to ARY News, claimed Khan receives B-Class facilities, including tailored meals and medical checkups, contradicting PTI’s allegations.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has launched a “Free Imran Khan” movement, with protests planned for August 5, 2025, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, as per The Hindu. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed concerns about barring Khan’s sons, stating to reporters in Islamabad that the government seeks to prevent violence akin to the May 9, 2023, protests, which led to charges against Khan under the Anti-Terrorism Act. Despite these assurances, PTI insists Khan’s detention reflects a broader campaign to stifle dissent, with 103 party members convicted in military courts, per TIME. The ongoing legal battles and public outcry underscore Pakistan’s deepening political crisis.
