Pakistan Slashes LPG Price by Rs17.74 per kg for August

On July 31, 2025, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a significant reduction in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices, lowering the cost by Rs17.74 per kilogram to Rs215.36, effective August 1. The price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic LPG cylinder dropped by Rs209.24, from Rs2,750.60 to Rs2,541.36, providing much-needed relief to consumers, as per a notification cited by Daily Pakistan.

The price cut, driven by a decline in global oil prices, aims to ease the financial burden on millions of households, particularly those reliant on LPG for cooking and heating in areas without piped natural gas, according to Profit by Pakistan Today. The cost of a 45.4-kilogram commercial cylinder also fell by Rs805.36, now priced at Rs9,777.46, benefiting small businesses, per the same source.
