Pakistan is set to dispatch 200 tons of humanitarian aid to support Palestinians affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The initiative, launched under the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, involves the use of two chartered cargo aircraft. Each plane is scheduled to carry 100 tons of essential relief goods. The aid will be routed through Jordan and Egypt to facilitate safe and timely delivery to Palestinian communities.

The operation is being organized by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Chairman of the NDMA, has been instructed to oversee the logistics and ensure smooth execution of the mission. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, along with senior NDMA officials, is expected to supervise the final preparations and departure of the cargo from Islamabad.

According to the NDMA, the supplies include food rations and other basic relief items. Although a detailed breakdown of the aid has not yet been made public, earlier humanitarian shipments from Pakistan to Gaza have typically contained items such as canned goods, powdered milk, water, and hygiene kits. The current mission continues Pakistan’s broader humanitarian response to the crisis, which saw over 1,600 tons of aid delivered by May 2025. Officials have not confirmed updated cumulative figures for total assistance as of this month.

The cargo flights are tentatively scheduled to depart within the next two days, subject to final coordination with airspace and ground authorities in Jordan and Egypt. The NDMA is working closely with Pakistan’s embassies in Amman and Cairo to ensure that the aid reaches Palestinian populations efficiently. Previous aid missions were delivered through Jordan’s capital and then handed over to international humanitarian partners for further distribution to Gaza.

This latest relief effort underscores Pakistan’s continued commitment to humanitarian support for Palestinians amid the conflict. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s stance on standing in solidarity with oppressed populations and emphasized the importance of extending support during times of crisis.

While the NDMA has provided logistical leadership on previous missions, the involvement of United Nations agencies or international non-governmental organizations in this specific shipment has not yet been publicly confirmed. Pakistan’s government has stated it will continue to monitor developments in the region and remains ready to dispatch further assistance if required.
