Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has received an official invitation from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud to attend the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII) Forum, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from October 27 to 30. The invitation was formally delivered on Saturday by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malky, during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to a statement from the PM Office Media Wing, the prime minister warmly accepted the invitation and extended his respectful greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and to the Crown Prince. The meeting was described as arduous, with both sides discussing recent developments in the region.

The FII Forum, first announced in September 2017 by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, serves as a global platform aimed at bringing together investors, policymakers, innovators, and business leaders. It focuses on identifying and funding the most promising solutions for economic growth and development. The initiative is closely tied to Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious national program designed to diversify the Saudi economy, reduce reliance on oil revenues, and encourage social reforms.

The first FII conference took place in Riyadh in October 2017 and has since evolved into one of the Middle East’s most high-profile business and investment gatherings. Each year, it attracts high-level participants from across the world, including heads of state, Fortune 500 executives, entrepreneurs, and policy experts.

This year’s edition is expected to highlight advancements in technology, sustainable investment opportunities, and strategies for navigating global economic challenges. It will also serve as a networking hub for forging partnerships that align with Saudi Arabia’s long-term economic transformation agenda.

For Pakistan, the FII Forum presents a valuable opportunity to engage with global investors and strengthen economic ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The deep-rooted relationship between the two countries is based on mutual respect, cultural affinity, and strong bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, and defense.

Prime Minister Sharif’s participation is anticipated to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to expanding economic collaboration with Saudi Arabia and to exploring joint ventures that can support national development objectives. Discussions at the forum could pave the way for increased foreign direct investment into Pakis
