Tando Adam Teacher Accused of Beating Student

A troubling incident at a government primary school near Tando Adam, Sindh, has sparked public concern after a teacher allegedly assaulted a young student. The incident took place in the village of Qabool Shah, where fifth-grade student Jan Sher Khaskheli was reportedly beaten by schoolteacher Abdul Aziz Buriro for not completing his assigned classwork.

According to local sources, the situation escalated when Headmaster Habib-ur-Rehman Shaikh stepped in to protect the student. The teacher allegedly responded with verbal abuse and physical aggression toward the headmaster. The confrontation proved overwhelming for Shaikh, who suffered a heart attack during the altercation. He was immediately transported to a private hospital for emergency treatment.

Family members of the assaulted student are demanding swift action. Speaking to reporters, the boy’s uncle, Ghulam Mustafa Khaskheli, claimed that the teacher has a history of misconduct.

“He does not teach the children. He mistreats and abuses them. Today, he violently attacked my nephew and caused him injuries,” he said.

Khaskheli also alleged that the teacher is a habitual drug user and has created a hostile learning environment for the students. He called on Sindh’s Education Minister to investigate the matter thoroughly and enforce disciplinary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of children in government schools.

No official statement has been issued yet by the district education office regarding the status of the teacher or any ongoing inquiry into the incident. However, community members have begun voicing their concerns, urging authorities to take immediate steps to address teacher misconduct in rural schools.

The case has highlighted the broader issue of student safety in public educational institutions, particularly in remote areas. Many parents in the region are now calling for stronger oversight of school staff and regular performance reviews to avoid such violent episodes in the future.
