In a tragic incident, three personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) and their driver were martyred when unidentified militants opened fire on their vehicle in the Amankot area of Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on August 5, 2025, as reported by Geo.tv. The attack occurred under the jurisdiction of Gurguri Police Station while the FC team, assigned to secure a local oil and gas company, was on routine patrol. The fallen personnel were identified as Lance Naik Mehmood Shah, Sepoy Shahid, and Sepoy Rauf, with the driver named Shahpoor, according to Pakistan Television News. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surrounding mountainous terrain to track down the assailants, as stated by District Police Officer (DPO) Shehbaz Elahi to Geo News.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack, attributing it to “Indian-sponsored terrorists” and saluting the martyrs’ sacrifices, per Pakistan Television News. He emphasized that such losses strengthen Pakistan’s resolve to combat terrorism. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also denounced the attack, directing authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and offering condolences to the victims’ families, as reported by The News International.
