On August 7, 2025, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi firmly ruled out negotiations with terrorists, vowing to uphold the state’s authority through ongoing intelligence-based operations.

Speaking at the Qaumi Istehkam-e-Pakistan Conference in Peshawar on August 7, 2025, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi declared that there would be no dialogue with those who violate the Constitution of Pakistan or challenge the state’s authority. Addressing a gathering of political and social figures, he called on individuals sheltering terrorists to stop, warning that intelligence-based operations would target such facilitators. “Pakistan’s armed forces are fully capable of neutralizing threats,” he stated, emphasizing the military’s ability to respond swiftly to any aggression.

Governor Kundi’s remarks come amid heightened security concerns in K-P, where terrorist incidents have surged, particularly in the southern districts. He highlighted the effectiveness of ongoing operations, noting that a large-scale military offensive is unnecessary due to the precision of intelligence-driven actions. According to Dawn, Kundi stressed that local communities oppose displacement, favoring targeted operations over broad military campaigns. He urged unity against terrorism, criticizing those who enable militants, and praised the Pakistan Army for its role in maintaining national security.

The governor also addressed political dynamics, accusing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government of failing to maintain law and order. He referenced the peaceful state of K-P in 2013 under previous governance, contrasting it with the current rise in militancy. “The provincial government’s inaction has allowed terrorists to regroup,” he said, as quoted by The Express Tribune, calling for stronger provincial accountability. Kundi’s stance aligns with the federal government’s commitment to the National Action Plan (NAP), a counter-terrorism framework, which he vowed would continue without interruption.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed Kundi’s resolve, commending the armed forces’ sacrifices and reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism. The governor’s firm position underscores the need for a united front against militancy, particularly in K-P, where groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) remain active. As security forces intensify efforts, Kundi’s call for an end to terrorist support signals a robust approach to restoring peace in the province.
