On the night of July 19-20, 2025, Pakistan’s security forces neutralized four terrorists linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Kalat district. This article examines the operation’s success, its broader implications for counterterrorism, and Pakistan’s resolve to combat foreign-sponsored threats, highlighting the bravery of its forces and the ongoing fight for national security.

The operation, conducted by Pakistan’s security forces, targeted a hideout in the Pehrood area of Kalat, based on credible intelligence about the presence of Fitna al-Hindustan militants, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Following an intense firefight, four terrorists, described as Indian-sponsored, were eliminated. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives, along with a Fitna al-Hindustan flag, was recovered, underscoring their involvement in numerous attacks, according to Pakistan Today. A sanitization operation is ongoing to ensure no threats remain, reflecting Pakistan’s unyielding commitment to eradicating terrorism.

The operation comes amid a surge in terrorist activities in Balochistan, with Pakistan ranking second in the Global Terrorism Index 2025, reporting a 45% increase in terrorism-related deaths, totaling 1,081 last year. The government has designated all Balochistan-based terrorist groups as Fitna al-Hindustan since May 2025, accusing India of sponsoring proxy attacks. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the forces, with Sharif stating, “The state will continue to act against terrorism with full force,” as quoted by SUCH TV. The operation follows a recent attack in Kalat, where three musicians were killed in a bus ambush, highlighting the group’s targeting of civilians.

Pakistan’s security forces face relentless challenges, with recent martyrdoms of an army officer in Awaran and two policemen in Mastung underscoring the high stakes. The Kalat operation signals a robust response to foreign-backed threats, reinforcing Pakistan’s determination to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its people from those seeking to destabilize the nation.
