ISPR Director General Speaks to Students at King Edward Medical University in Lahore

Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), visited King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore, where he engaged with students and faculty to discuss Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and counter terrorism.

During his address, Lieutenant General Chaudhry highlighted the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, a strategic military campaign aimed at eliminating terrorist threats. He emphasized that despite challenges posed by a small group of terrorists, Pakistan’s progress will remain steadfast, particularly in Balochistan, where historical, cultural, and religious ties unite the population with the country. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Pakistan Armed Forces in defending national sovereignty.

Chaudhry also reaffirmed Pakistan’s position on Kashmir, referring to it as the “jugular vein” of the nation. He underscored Pakistan’s political and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri cause, consistent with the country’s longstanding policy on self-determination and sovereignty.

The event at KEMU, an institution established in 1860, was part of broader military efforts to engage with the youth, who are recognized as key contributors to the nation’s future. Lieutenant General Chaudhry encouraged students to actively counter misinformation and play a constructive role in supporting national unity. He referenced similar engagements with youth groups, including a recent session with students at the Saylani IT Program in Karachi.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry’s visit reinforced the Pakistan Armed Forces’ dedication to national security and public outreach. By fostering dialogue with future professionals, the ISPR aims to strengthen the relationship between the military and civilian population, promoting stability and prosperity in Pakistan.
