Gandhara City Rawalpindi Near Airport Gains RDA Approval

RAWALPINDI – Gandhara City, a mid-sized housing society spanning 400 Kanal near Islamabad International Airport, has received a significant boost after securing approval from the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA).

Located adjacent to Mumtaz City and accessible via the M-1 and M-2 Motorways, Rawalpindi Ring Road, and Airport Road, Gandhara City holds strategic value due to its proximity to both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The development is just a short 5–8-minute drive from Islamabad International Airport and around 24 kilometers from Zero Point via Kashmir Highway (Sri Nagar Highway).

The society features four main blocks Jhelum, Chenab, Indus, and Rehmat Ali. Among these, the Jhelum block remains in the early stages of development, while overall project progress stands at approximately 40%. Gandhara Developers, known for their prior residential projects, are leading the construction.

Though marketed as offering both mid-range and luxury living options through residential and commercial plots, Gandhara City currently lacks essential facilities such as schools, hospitals, and shopping centers. Water availability remains a concern, with bore water being scarce throughout the area.

Despite these challenges, the project’s official NOC from RDA has made it attractive to investors, especially those seeking long-term returns. While residential prospects appear promising due to location advantages, the commercial outlook is still developing.

Gandhara City is designed around the ancient Gandhara theme, lending the project cultural appeal alongside its logistical benefits. With steady development and growing investor interest, the society may become a key residential area in the Rawalpindi-Islamabad region in the coming years.
