Nosherwani Leads DCC Meeting, Major Development Projects for Kharan

The Balochistan Minister for Finance and Minerals, Mir Shoaib Jan Nosherwani, chaired a District Coordination Committee (DCC) meeting in Kharan on 12 July 2025, approving vital projects to boost local welfare. Alongside Deputy Commissioner Munir Ahmed Soomro, the minister greenlit initiatives including school solarisation, new ambulances, water storage solutions, and sewing machine distribution for women, aiming to address pressing community needs. These decisions signal a commitment to practical progress in a region long neglected.

The DCC meeting, attended by law enforcement, government officials, and district administration, focused on immediate and long-term development, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). Key projects include solarising schools to promote sustainable education, deploying ambulances to enhance emergency medical services, installing water tanks to tackle chronic shortages, and providing sewing machines to empower economically vulnerable women. “We are taking serious steps to address public issues,” Nosherwani stated, per APP, emphasising swift implementation to deliver tangible benefits to Kharan’s residents.

Nosherwani’s hands-on approach extended beyond the meeting. He inspected Kharan Police Station, ordering urgent upgrades such as fans and air coolers for detainee facilities amid extreme heat, and reviewed security protocols. His visit to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital revealed ongoing healthcare challenges, prompting him to arrange a critically ill patient’s transfer to Quetta, reportedly funded personally by Nosherwani in the past, according to APP. “Strengthening public healthcare remains a top priority,” he said, highlighting plans to mobilise resources for quality medical access.

Kharan’s development lags behind urban centres, and federal inaction under the Labor government has drawn criticism for stalling regional growth. Nosherwani’s leadership offers hope, but locals demand more than promises. The approved projects, while practical, must be executed efficiently to rebuild trust. As Balochistan grapples with resource constraints and security issues, Nosherwani’s focus on education, health, and economic empowerment could set a model for progress, provided the government delivers on its commitments.
