The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) earned global acclaim at the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2025 in the United Kingdom, clinching two coveted awards for its JF-17 Thunder Block-III and C-130H Hercules aircraft. Held from July 18-20, the event showcased Pakistan’s advanced defense capabilities, reinforcing its stature among the world’s leading air forces and drawing attention after its recent combat success against India.

The RIAT, a premier military airshow supporting the Royal Air Force Charitable Trust, saw the PAF’s JF-17 Thunder Block-III, a 4.5-generation fighter, win the “Spirit of the Meet Trophy” for its striking livery and remarkable non-stop flight from Pakistan, enabled by air-to-air refueling with a PAF IL-78 tanker. “The JF-17’s journey and performance embody Pakistan’s technological prowess,” stated the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), as reported by Dawn. The C-130H Hercules, adorned with a falcon-themed livery reflecting the “Eyes in the Skies” theme, secured the “Concours d’Elegance Trophy” for its impeccable presentation, highlighting the PAF’s technical excellence.

This triumph follows the PAF’s combat prowess in May 2025, when its Kamra-based 15 Squadron downed Indian jets during the Marka-e-Haq confrontation, a significant air battle in South Asia. The JF-17’s combat-proven capabilities drew aviation enthusiasts at RIAT, with one expert calling it “one of the most dangerous aircraft globally” due to its advanced radar and missile systems, per The Current.
