Pakistan Slams India’s Operation Sindoor Claims as Baseless

Pakistan’s Foreign Office rejected India’s claims about “Operation Sindoor” as unfounded, accusing Indian leaders of distorting facts for political gain during a Lok Sabha debate.

Islamabad, Pakistan – On July 30, 2025, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) issued a strong rebuttal to India’s claims regarding the so-called “Operation Sindoor,” labeling them baseless and provocative, as reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP). Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, responding to a Lok Sabha debate, condemned Indian leaders for manipulating facts to justify aggression and bolster domestic political narratives. The statement followed India’s assertion that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack, successfully targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, a claim Pakistan dismissed as lacking credible evidence.

Khan emphasized that India’s military actions on May 6-7, 2025, which India described as precise strikes against groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM), resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children, without verifiable justification. He cited the martyrdom of 31 Pakistanis, as reported by Lieutenant Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), and accused India of targeting civilian areas, such as mosques and residences in Punjab and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) responded with measures like halting trade and closing airspace to Indian aircraft, followed by Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, which struck Indian military sites on May 9-10, 2025.

The spokesperson rejected India’s narrative of a “new normal” in bilateral relations, insisting that respect for sovereignty and adherence to the United Nations (UN) Charter are non-negotiable. Khan also criticized India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a violation of international obligations. He urged Indian leaders to acknowledge their military losses, including six Indian Air Force (IAF) jets downed by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), and accept third-party roles in the ceasefire, contradicting India’s claim of no external mediation.

Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to regional stability and dialogue, particularly on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, while warning that future aggression would face a forceful response. Updates are available at www.mofa.gov.pk, reflecting Pakistan’s stance on sovereignty and peace.
