Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir accuses India of escalating its proxy war following a military defeat in the Marka-e-Haq conflict, emphasizing Pakistan’s resolve to counter terrorism and foster Balochistan’s development for national stability.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has accused India of intensifying its proxy war against Pakistan after suffering a decisive defeat in the 19-day Marka-e-Haq conflict from April 22 to May 10, 2025. Speaking at the 16th National Workshop Balochistan, organized by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Munir condemned India’s alleged sponsorship of terrorist groups, describing it as a futile attempt to undermine the patriotism of Balochistan’s people. The workshop, held on July 30, 2025, brought together parliamentarians, civil servants, academics, media, and youth to discuss regional security and development.

Munir highlighted India’s use of terrorist outfits, labeled as Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, as tools in a hybrid war aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. He asserted that these proxies would face the same fate as India did in Marka-e-Haq, according to a statement from the ISPR. The COAS emphasized that terrorists operate without regard for religion, sect, or ethnicity, necessitating a unified national response to eradicate the threat. “Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond decisively to any internal or external challenge,” Munir stated, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and citizens.

The COAS also underscored the critical role of socio-economic development in Balochistan to counter hostile narratives and secure lasting peace. He advocated for enhanced coordination among government institutions and a cohesive national strategy to drive provincial progress, which he described as vital for Pakistan’s stability. “Balochistan’s advancement is inseparable from the nation’s future,” Munir noted, calling for continued investment in infrastructure and social initiatives.

Pakistan’s military leadership, including Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has repeatedly accused India of orchestrating terrorism, including transnational killings, to disrupt peace. These claims align with Pakistan’s broader diplomatic efforts to expose India’s alleged role in regional instability. Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to regional peace while warning that any aggression would meet a robust response, signaling a resolute stance against India’s purported proxy tactics.
