President Awards Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to Saudi Naval Chief

On July 21, 2025, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred the Nishan‑i‑Imtiaz (Military)—one of Pakistan’s highest military honors—on Vice Admiral Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al‑Ghoraibi, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF), during a ceremony held at Aiwan‑e‑Sadr in Islamabad.

The award recognized Vice Admiral Al‑Ghoraibi’s contributions to strengthening naval and defense cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf; Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al‑Malki; Defense Minister Khawaja Asif; and senior military officials.

In his address, President Zardari praised Vice Admiral Al‑Ghoraibi for his “exceptional intellect, unwavering commitment, and administrative excellence.” He credited the Saudi naval chief with promoting joint naval exercises, training programs, and maritime dialogue between the two countries.

The award highlights Pakistan’s appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support in defense and maritime security. Under Vice Admiral Al‑Ghoraibi’s leadership, the Royal Saudi Naval Forces have actively participated in multilateral maritime exercises hosted by Pakistan, including AMAN‑25 and the AMAN Dialogue‑25, aimed at enhancing regional maritime collaboration.

President Zardari remarked that the conferment of the Nishan‑i‑Imtiaz (Military) reflects the “deep-rooted and historic military ties between the two brotherly nations.” He also underscored the strategic importance of maritime cooperation for regional stability, particularly in securing sea lanes in the Arabian Sea against threats such as piracy and maritime terrorism.

The Nishan‑i‑Imtiaz (Military) is awarded to both Pakistani and foreign military officers in recognition of outstanding service to Pakistan’s defense interests.
