Two Armed Suspects Killed in Separate Police Encounters During Routine Patrols in Vehari

Two dangerous suspects wanted in multiple serious criminal cases were killed in separate police encounters during routine patrolling by the Crime Control Division (CCD) in Vehari district, authorities reported on Friday. These operations highlight ongoing law enforcement efforts to tackle long-standing criminal elements disrupting public safety.

The first incident took place near the EB-505 bridge when a CCD patrol team came under fire from three armed men. Police returned fire in self-defense, and during the ensuing search, they found one suspect critically wounded. The suspect, identified as Muhammad Yousaf, also known as Kaba Qasai from Burewala, later died despite medical efforts. Officers recovered a 30-bore pistol at the scene, while the two other suspects fled.

In a separate encounter near Chak WB-97, another CCD team confronted three armed individuals who attempted to block a road. The suspects opened fire on the police vehicle, prompting a retaliatory response. One suspect, identified as Akhtar Hussain from Burewala, was critically injured and succumbed during the operation. Police recovered a pistol from his possession.

Officials confirmed both men were implicated in numerous cases involving robbery, theft, and armed assault, having evaded capture for nearly twenty years. These successful operations underscore the CCD’s commitment to dismantling entrenched criminal networks.

In the last 90 days, CCD teams operating across Multan, Lodhran, Khanewal, and Vehari districts have arrested a total of 337 suspects. This includes 49 individuals linked to murder, 34 involved in robbery, 180 in theft and robbery, and 74 in other serious offenses. These figures reflect a focused and strategic approach by law enforcement to restore law and order in the region.
